Zone located adjacent to and below the littoral zone, i.e., below thelevel of extreme low tide. Sublittoral pertains to the organisms living in that environment.

Submarine movement downslope of a mass of rock, debris or sediments. Landslides occur when gravitational and other types of shear stresses within a slope exceed the shear strength (resistance to shearing) of the materials that form the slope.

Vegetation that lives at or below the surface of a waterbody.

A population that is distinct from, and partially reproductively isolated from, other populations of a species but that has not yet diverged sufficiently that interbreeding is impossible.
